Remodel Tips
Remodeling can be expensive but is also well worth spending the money on what you want and need. Take time up front to list your wants and needs; this helps you clarify the project and helps the contractor in bidding your project accurately.
Remodeling is a very personal process. The remodeler you
hire will be part of your home life for several weeks or months, so it's
important to make sure that your personalities work well together. The
bottom line is: Will you feel comfortable with this individual? |

One of the most commonly overlooked consumer responsibilities is getting and checking references from the contractor’s previous customers. If this was a word of mouth referral from a trusted friend you’re probably okay, otherwise make sure you take the time upfront and do your homework. If a contractor doesn’t or can’t supply references run the other way.
Once you’ve signed a contract ask your contractor to supply a copy of their appropriate licenses and for them to have a copy of their insurance certificates sent to you from their insurance agent (never accept a copy of insurance documents from a contractor).
Remember as a consumer you have a three day (72
hour) right of rescission period. Our Golden Years Design philosophy takes into consideration design modifications that will meet your needs as you age. Remodel Projects - Kitchen and Bath, Basements Additions & Built-Ins We offer full addition and remodeling services. Whether it’s an addition to your home, a basement remodel or custom cabinetry for your den or office we can do it. |

Main & Henry Renovations Kitchen Remodeling Contractor, Lakewood Colorado A kitchen remodel adds value to your home and is one of your best investments. A Return on Investment of 80% or more is not inconceivable. A "minor" kitchen remodel (in home improvement speak that's about $20K) is also usually a good investment. The national average for cost returned is about 83%, the average is higher here in the West. But even if you don't reach that mark, consider what the remodel project will mean to you in terms of livability and enjoyment of your home. You may discover that you don't want to sell any time soon. |
